Highlights Italy Serie A1/A2

Verona - The two-hour lasting Venetian derby seemed at first an easy victory for Verona, the team of Marco Meoni and Aidan Zingel (AUS). Zingel just returned from the Asian Championships won with his team the first two sets. But Sisley led by Fei and Robert Horstink (21 points two aces, one block and 60% attack) came back strong Unfortunately, these figures were not enough to win the fifth set. Thijs ter Horst made his first points with three attacks, two scored. He did had a good preparation in the preseason, according to Verona and the other teams we will hear more from him. Aidan Zingel ended the game with 9 points, 2 aces, 1 block and 60% in attack.

Ravenna - Casa Modena wins here, 3-0 CMC Ravenna left unused 7 setpoints in the first set. The team of Modena was passing strongly and Esko could put attackers in position. Dick Kooy played a good game, 11 points from 58% in attack.

Vibo Valentia - The second day of the competition and the second five-setter for Vibo, the team of Niels Klapwijk who played an impressive match against the favorite Cuneo. There was certainly more there for Vibo and later this season this will certainly happen. Niels played very consistant, when his teammates this will do also then they will certainly leave teams in surprise. Niels Klapwijk 27 points, 2 aces, 1 block and 59% in the attack.

Sora - The match from Kay van Dijk with Sora against Cassa Rurale Cantu is won, 3-1. The comments of the manager of Cantu - We did not just give away too many points, thay  also made few mistakes, on top of that, they have a superb diagonal Kay van Dijk.
Kay van Dijk 24 points, 59% in the attack.

Isernia - The away game from Santa Croce, the team of Jan Willem Snippe at Isernia which is not easy for anyone to win, was won by Santa Croce (3-1). JW Snippe played a very good game and took the teamof the Wolves in tow with his contribution of 15 points and 60% in attack assuring his team 3 points.
